Cycle Confidence Training for children 8+

This Cycle Confidence course aims to develop mastery in cycle handling in an off-road environment and prepare riders for cycling on the road. Riders must be able to cycle indepenently (i.e. pedal and glide) to participate in this session.

All training is based on Bikeability and is delivered to the National Standard for Cycle Training on behalf of Active Travel England

How is Cycle Confidence delivered?

It is delivered in an off road environment. Groups of children will receive a 90 minute session.

Parents are asked to provide bikes and helmets but you can request to borrow these on your booking. Please note childs height in the information box

What will the children learn?   

  • Prepare themselves for a journey
  • Check the cycle is ready for a journey
  • Set off, pedal, slow down and stop
  • Pedal (including looking behind, cycling one handed, turning and controlling speed)
