Bikeability Learn to Ride - Child Public
Learn to Ride Sessions - aimed at age 5 - 7 years.
Bikes provided - just bring a helmet
Our Learn to Ride course offers 2 x 60 minute sessions over 2 consectutive days to help your children. The expert instructors use a series of engaging activties and games that will demonstrate step by step the key skills children require to learn to ride a bike without stabilisers. Parents are asked to participate to learn tips and continue to support your childs cycling journey.
What will the children learn?
• Get on and off the bike without help
• Start off and pedal without help
• Stop without help
• Ride along without help for roughly one minute or more
• Make the bike go where they want
• Demonstrate an understanding of safety equipment and clothing
• Carry out a simple bike check
Our team will provide bikes for all riders, so just bring a helmet, if you need to borrow a helmet please contact bikeability@solihull.gov.uk

If you child normally wears their hair up please make sure hair is styled so that it will allow the helmet to fit safely on the child's head
